There's something to be said for small family celebrations. I remember when my kids were little I wanted to give them everything. I wanted each holiday to be as special as possible and so I did everything in my power to make it so. Sometimes we didn't have much but we did the best we could hoping that it would be enough. I don't know if we really realized then that sometimes less is more.
I was able to just watch Suzanne and her version of a birthday party for a little girl turning 2. Here, Kamryn was able to just sit back and truly enjoy each step of the evening without being rushed or overwhelmed with people and gifts. Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!
