Familiar Food

Food is part of the experience when visiting a foriegn country and it has been for me too on a small scale. I tried many types of Japanese foods while in Hawaii and I really didn't care for most of it. I don't know if that's the reason so much "American" food is available here or if it's because people just want something familiar, or maybe the Japanese really like it (but I don't really think so), or none of the above, but I was surprised at how many of our fast food restaurants are here.
This Subway is actually in the food court on base, along with Taco Bell, Anthony's Pizza and Popeye's and not available to the civilian population as a whole.

I'm not into Starbuck's but they're here, too.
