Okinawa is famous for the art of hand blown glass. It starts with hot melted glass on the end of a tube. The hot glass is put into a mold like this one. Next the glass is blown by blowing into the top of the tube inflating the glass enough to take on the shape of the mold and leaving it hollow inside. Then as the glass begins to cool, it's neck is formed and it is taken off the tube to cool. These windchimes were my favorite! But these flowers are beautiful too. Okinawa is also into these boards that you put your face through to have your picture taken, but we just can't resist Isabel's love for them!
