On The Streets Of Okinawa

We went several places with our friends, the Mattes'. This white car is parked in front of the beauty salon right on the sidewalk and it's very common to see as parking space can often be difficult to find. There isn't much graffiti here, but this wall mural was great! Most of the vehicles are square, and they are driven on the other side of the street, with the steering wheel on the right side of the car. I could go on and on about the names of cars. They range from "fit" and "live", to "gloria" and "joypop". One truck I saw was called "guts", and another, "brains". Here are a couple of interesting ones: Many people use motorcycles which, during working hours, can be seen parked in crowded groups outside businesses. It was different to see triangle stop signs like this one which happened to be on Base, and horizontal traffic lights. Stickers are used to alert others of a driver who may be impaired, and by law is not as accountable in case of an accident, like this orange and yellow one for senior citizen drivers, and this yellow and green one for new drivers: But even though this vehicle is meant only for the very inexperienced, it had no sticker!
