David is a self-proclaimed old man. Sensible always and careful, he walks this life constant and predictable - or so I thought.
He has made a friend of a young man named Levi and they have quickly become joined at the hip. Levi is 13 years old. David takes him to his baseball practices and games. They play video games together, go to McDonald's together, and work out at the gym.
We were invited to go to a birthday party for Levi's little brother J.T. last Saturday night. It was at a place that has pizza, candy, water slides, batting cages and arcade games that reward winners with redeemable tickets, so we ate and played and had a good time. But the topper came when David commented that he wished he had brought a swimming suit so that HE could go on the water slides!
