Cecily Mary Barker was a young artist/poet in England in the early 1900's, and a contemporary of Beatrix Potter. Her flowers are botanically correct and her flower fairies capture the innocence and sweetness of childhood. During the summer of 1920 she kept a journal of a visit she took to a dear friend's home at Bartons where she found positive evidences of them.
