Polynesian Cultural Center, day 1

First we rode a canoe to Fiji! On the Fiji stage they were honoring people who were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries or who were on honeymoons, so we went up because it was our 37th anniversary in May, and we learned a dance, right there in front of everyone!
This is the hut of Fijian royalty. If a commoner enters the wrong door he is bludgeoned to death!

Next we watched the Rainbows of Paradise Canoe Pageant that featured the native dances of the different islands represented at the cultural center.

After this we went to the IMAX Theater and saw a movie about corral reefs. Then we stopped at a craft table where I had enough time to make a lei before dinner. The Horizon Show was after dinner but in between we were able to take the tour bus to BYU Hawaii and the LDS Visitors' Center. It's been a great day. The Horizon Show ended with the famous fire dance. The whole thing was spectacular!
